I am Orou Gaoue, a PhD Student & Teaching Assistant, from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Botany Department. I am interested in ethnoecology and the ecological impact of using non timber forest products by indigenous people on harvested plant species. My focus is primarily on tropical ecosystems in Africa. However, I have plant demography research experience in the USA and would like to get to know about Latin American ecosystem as well. In this webpage, present my background, my scientific vision for African renaissance, my PhD project and publications. I suggested few scientific readings in ethnoecology, conservation genetics, plant demography and population viability analysis.
